Well, this is a sketch that I attempted to trace using Illustrator. What a great tool for tracing. Illustrator is vector-based which makes it really flexible to alter lineworks. Anyway, this is a sketch of John Lennon, one of the members from the 60s band The Beatles. This guy wrote some of the greatest songs and the lyrics are just as inspiring. One of my favourite is "Imagine", which has been covered by so many artists that, I feel, no matter whoever sings the song, it just sounds right and makes the artist more loveable. There's a Beatles' song called Within You, Without You from the album Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. Lyrics are great. I'm not sure if Lennon wrote this song together with Paul McCartney.

I have this album, which I borrowed from my good friend, Axon (not yet to returned him I think). It's called Make Some Noise - Save Darfur (The Songs of John Lennon). Various artists are featured in this album. Avril Lavigne and Jack Johnson did covers for the song Imagine. Avril's voice just sounds sweet as ever and Jack Johnson makes it sound so hauntingly mellow and the acoustic is just addictive. There are other tracks which sound equally great too, like Aerosmith singing the reggae version of Give Peace A Chance, R.E.M.'s #9 Dream, Youssou N'Dour's Jealous Guy (this one is wicked, the guy's accent really has an impact here) and many more.

Below is the lyrics for the song Imagine. I feel the lyric really applies to this chaos-ridden planet Earth that we, human beings live in, be it past or present, it just makes sense, chronologically.

Imagine
John Lennon And The Plastic Ono Band

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...
